Here are a few things an owner should check before scheduling a service call
FILTERS: Filters are by far the number one cause of spa malfunction. Even new or recently cleaned filters can become clogged by some form of water contamination. Clogged filters restrict water flow and cause the water in the heater to overheat and shut down the spa.

WATER LEVEL: Low water causes pumps to suck air resulting in surging jets or an air locked pump.

POWER: Check and test all GFCI breakers. Refer to your owners manual for any reset switches or procedures that apply to your spa.

MODE: Be sure any abnormality is not the result of the ECONOMY / SUMMER mode setting on your spa.

OVERHEATING: The summer sun can cause overheating, this problem can be solved by adding a spacer or two between the spa and cover to allow ventilation.
Overheating at any other time indicates a faulty sensor and service should be scheduled.

SUNDANCE / JACUZZI TROUBLE CODES
-- -- -- -- WATCHDOG MODE - Power down the spa for sixty seconds, if the watchdog indicater returns after power is restored, schedule service.
FL1- Water flow is restricted . Cleaning or replaceing the filters should clear this code, if not, schedule service.
FL2 - Flow switch failure, schedule service.

OH- Spa overheated or temp. sensor has failed, schedule service.

SPA LOCKED ICON- Improper voltage (120v instead of 240v)
HOTSPRING INDICATORS
POWER INDICATOR : The POWER indicator is ‘on’ when the spa is properly supplied with power. It also provides a diagnostic
function–a blinking power indicator indicates that the heater high limit has tripped, meaning that either the spa water is
above its acceptable temperature range, or a malfunction has occurred within the spa (such as low circulation due to
clogged filters). An ‘off’ power indicator means that there is a problem with the spa control box or the power supplied to
the spa.
READY INDICATOR : The READY indicator will light when the spa water temperature is within 2-1/2°F of the set temperature,
and will turn off when the temperature is outside of that range. If you increase or decrease the temperature setting of the
spa, the ready indicator will turn off until the spa temperature reaches the acceptable range for the new set temperature.
Additionally, a blinking Ready indicator indicates that a problem exists with the temperature sensor.
